Great Pyr Seeks Herd Situation
I am considering, only considering, placing my Great Pyr, Jazz in a goat home. She's not been the same since I sold my herd and I know she is really a working dog. She fell into their protection so naturally that it makes me feel selfish to keep her away from work. Jazz is ten months old and was a badger-marked pup. You can barely see the markings now. She cared for sixteen goats on 50 acres where coyotes were a nightly distraction. Jazz loves to swim. Ideally she would be going to a working pastured goat situation with plenty of shade, maybe a pond or creek, and not too far away so she can have a trial and come back home if it doesn't work out for all involved. I ask only that I am reimbursed for the spaying which she is about to undergo. That will be between $95 and $115 depending on her weight for the anesthesia. She's upt on all shots including rabies. Would do great on an all raw diet but since I have no refrigeration yet, she is on Nutro's Lamb and Rice and supplemented with about 4 pounds of raw ground beef and several raw chicken leg quarters weekly.
I am not ordinarily a meddlesome person but would like to visit a couple of times after she is situated to be sure that she found the right home. Jazz is not registered. She came from property guardian parents and is an absolute sweetheart with animals including my cat. Unlike LGD's I've read about, she doesnot bark excessively (except right now out of boredom, she rarely barked when she was with the goats) and she comes when called. I am located in the TN/AL/MS triangle area. Please pm me if interested.
