cd/t carryover to kids?

Well, origionally I believed that Daisy was due to kid in August, meaning that I would give her cd/t shot sometime soon here so the protection was sure to carry over to her kids this year... But now I think she is due any day now. What to do about the cd/t shot? I gave hers last year in October, so would cd/t protection still be carried over to her kids? When is the earliest I can give the kids a cd/t shot to be sure they don't have any problems?

No the October shot will not work. The does should have it between 2-4 weeks before the delivery. Any time out of that they will not get the protection they need. I have done that, I totally missed a doe this last year. I thought she was due in March and we went out and there she was with two babies. So all you have to do is give the babies a shot at 1 week, then 4weeks following and then another 4 weeks. They will need three shots to make up for the one they missed in mom. If you give it to mom now and she has the babies before the two weeks, that is fine but the babies will still need the three shots. Good Luck

OK well I'll have my friend give the cd/t shot at 1 week, then at 5 weeks, then at 9 weeks, correct? I won't be here in a week, but my friend knows how to give shots, so everything is OK. thanks for that info, I really thought that the october shot wouldn't work either, mainly needed to know how early I could give the cd/t shot.

That is correct. Sounds like your friend will have everything under control. All you have to worry about is having a great time in China. Both of my kids have received the invite to go to different places. I am really glad you were able to do this, it will be something you will never forget. Have a great time. Post pictures of your trip when you get back.

Speaking on this issue, I have a little 2 month old that I just gave his first shot to yesterday. He hadn't received it before I got him. Seems lots of people around here don't vaccinate. So I'm thinking maybe his mom probably wasn't vaccinated.

So should I assume she wasn't? And vaccinate like you mentioned to the other person? In another 4 weeks, and then a third time 4 weeks after that?
