possible bred lamancha dilema

Ok here is the problem. I have a 1 1/2 yr old grade lamancha that I had bred back on Jan 17th. I ended up having her ultra sounded and the vet felt that she was not pregnant.Well I noticed a few weeks ago that she has developed an udder and has milk, however she does not look pregnant and about 2 weeks ago I noticed that she had some bloody discharge but her vagina was not swollen and there was no kids born.I searched the pasture 3 times over and found nothing.

If indeed she was bred on the 17th she would of been 150 days around the 16th of June.I had the vet back out last weekend and he said that he thought that he felt a kid in there. She is way past her due date and does not appear to be going into labor anytime soon.

I did call another goat expert vet and he is suppose to call me tomorrow BUT I was wondering do you think that this could be a flase pregnancy or maybe she is still pregnant but the kid is dead? But then again she is healthy and has been eating and been active also there is no temperture and resperations are normal.

I have never dealt with false pregnancy in my pygmies,is this something that is common in dairy goats?

thanks for any input and I will let everyone know as soon as I can have the vet get his butt out hear to check her.

Thanks

My neighbor across the street had one of her nubians go through false pregnancy this year. She got fat like all the others and even had discharge like she was about to have a baby and nothing!

She was really upset cause she thought she was bred, but she just went a long with the other nubians I guess wanting to be pregnant too.

can you hold her and see if you feel a baby move? I am able to hold my rabbits at this far along and feel the babies move. I know its alot to ask of a goat to stand still for so long. Good luck.

Update....

Yesterday the vet was out and he did ultrasound Pheobie and she is not pregnant. He said that she is a virgin milker and to go ahead and start milking her and in about a week and a half she should be in full milk production. The vet also said that she did not have any mastitis and she was not a hermaphodite (all of her girl parts are there).I was wondering why she did not take to my Nubian buck and the vet said that she possibly could have clamydia and that in Sept when she comes into her first heat cycle to give her a shot of La 200 and she should be able to settle then.Ah I learned something new this week.Goats are just great!!
