Unhappy Loosing hair around eyes and ears

I am having problems with Onyx. Her skin is getting very flaky, losing hair around her eyes and on her ears. She is eating and drinking very well, she is up and running with all of the other girls, acting very normal and pig-headed

Please can somebody advise me as to what can be causing this. I have wormed her twice in april and up to date on her vaccinations.

Thank you for your help.

One of my friends has a problem like this on ONE of her fainting goats... none of the others have it, she has minerals out for him, and he is wormed regularly. He also acts normally. It doesn't seem to be contageous, if that helps at all.

Is she getting a good mineral (sufficient copper) offered free choice or frequently?

Yup, that's copper deficiency. Try giving her beef cattle minerals. That works for me.

They all have free choice acutal goat minerals by Purina. I have it in a pvc pipe along with baking soda, and we check them everyday to see if needs to be cleaned or filled. They has just started in the last couple of days.

Yes, my friend had this problem as I stated above, she got the purina goat minerals to no effect... though I would leave your goats on them too see any improvement... did you just purchace the minerals?

Yes, those are the hallmark signs of copper deficiency. We have a fainter who has this too. I don't know if she doesn't eat the minearls like the rest do, or if her system doesn't process them well. It's weird. But, we're bolusing with copper to solve the problem.

Try the Sweetlix Meatmaker minerals. That solved my goat's copper deficiency problem.
