Can't find boer does:(

Hi- We have been searching for a couple of boer does to start a little herd for ourselves to hopefully be able to have our daughter take some for 4-H. The thing is that we can't get anyone to sell us any does around here. We have been to 5 different places to buy a few and with no luck. We are getting a really nice buckling sunday, He is pure boer. If anyone can help by having some for sale or knowing if anyone has any for sale that are reasonably priced please let me know. We are located in ohio!
Thanks,
Mellissa

Oh if you were only closer to Kansas. I have had a great doe year and must sell some. Most are high percentages and a couple are 50% Boer and 50% Nubian. Darn it!

Where do live

Where do you live in Ohio? My neighbor lady has three boer does(with horns) for sale. They are yearlings and quite nice. We are located in Tiffin, about 60 miles south of Toledo. If you're interested, pm me and I will give you her phone#.

In Ohio-- there are several Boer goat farms near the Middlefiled area-- the local priices are quite low-- not like the guy who brought a truckload up from Kentucky for the auction, where he wanted 1000 plus for a percentage doe

Maybe you're just spelling it wrong? Try Bordeaux.

::bare, who's been fighting the urge to correct your spelling all morning, but finally just couldn't help himself::

How far are you from Michigan?
I'm just 20 miles from the Ohio/Michigan state line.

Try Mary Morrow at Stoney Point Farm in New Concord, Ohio. She has quite a few and had a list of does to pick from. She's the secretary for the Ohio Meat Goat Association. Real nice lady!

We got goats!!! We got two does, one is 100% and the other is 80% boer. We also got a very handsome buckling. He is 100% boer. I am so happy A gentleman that I was talking to at our live stock auction called today and told us about another gentleman who had several does for sale. Then it was such a hard time trying to figure out which one or two we wanted. So we let our girls chose them, They named them Blossom and Ginger! Just thought that I'd share our good news!!!
