How do you definitively tell the difference between a Nigerian Dwarf and an African Pygmy? If there some telltale difference in the breeds? TIA!

Good question! I'm no pro as I'm quite certain that my pygmy ain't no pygmy!
So I looked at some pictures and the best I can tell is that the Pygmy should have a more round "barrel" shaped body and definately shorter legs and always dark coloured.

Other than that, I'll leave it to the pro's.

Pygmies can be light colored -- I don't think you tell by color (but I own neither breed, so I'm no expert either). The main difference is that Nigerians are a dairy breed, and will have a bony, almost gaunt, dairy look to them. Pygmies are a meat breed, and as mentioned they should be stocky and round looking, a barrel on short legs.
