Electric Fence Wire Spacing

Tomorrow I will be running the wires for my fence. It is 48" tall. I am going to be using 6 wires spaced at 8" apart. Any thoughts? Is this OK?
Thanks Paul

You might consider setting the two lower ones at 6" instead of 8". Goats noses hit the fence first.

Sounds perfect. Ours are 12" apart and none ever get out. The babies even touch with their noses first and get poked so they stay away from it.

I was just going to run 4 strands, 48" high, the lowest 6-8" from the ground, alternate electric and ground. Will this not work?
As it is, they are leary to walk under the single wire I use for the cattle. thought for sure that 2 would be ok, 4 would be secure.
