For goat milk cheese (and ice cream, too, I think -- it's really late here, and I'm too tired to get up and get my book), get the book Goats Produce Too . It's a really good book, and not all that expensive.

The remedy for bland butter is to let your milk go sour before taking the cream off. It makes really good butter that way.

There is at least one book on making milk soaps, and again, it's well worth the price to get it.

Or go hang out on the Dairy Goats Plus forum and check out the cheese making section, the soap making section and the general discussions. Something for everyone with dairy goats.

If your butter is bland, perhaps it needs a little more salt?

When making goats milk soap, first freeze the milk. Put the frozen milk in your non-reactive bowl and smoosh (is this a word?) it, then add the lye. If you don't freeze it first, the milk will 'burn' from the heat the lye produces, and turn first yellow, then orange, and it will smell bad. Or, if you're not using all milk, then mix your lye into water, discounting the amount of liquid you will have for goats milk. Then when your soap comes to a light trace, then add the goats milk. The soap will come out a lighter color this way.

There's lots and lots of cheese recipes online. Try this: http://www.dairygoats.com/hightor/Ho...0is%20easy.htm

and this for great easy mozzarella:

Have fun!
