goats sniffing sand??!

please tell me if this is normal. we have two pygmy goats that are almost two months old now and they will stick their noses in the sand and push like little shovels. then they end up sneezing??! we do not understand this behavior; does anyone else? thanks

What a coincidence. Just saw my 2yo Nubian cross doing this today for the first time. She was pushing the dirt back and forth like she was scratching her upper lip. If you find out anything, let me know, too.
