What a cute little dude he is! I think he is a medium caramel color. Here is a link to the NPGA page that describes Pygmy coloring.
Pygmy Color Choices
You can click "see examples of various colors" near the top of that page to see some pictures.
Congratulations on your new kid!

I thought he was a med. or light caramel, but what has me baffled is that his owner calls him 'the gray one'. I haven't seen him in person yet. He lives three hours away and won't be weaned until the end of May.
(He has a sweet little grin )

Medium caramel + recessive black!! I have a girl that looks almost exactly like him!! Unregistered Pymgies come in many different colors that registered ones do not. I have put all the ones I have seen on my 'pygmy color' page on my website : www.freewebs.com/mygoats/

Thanks Dona, I knew you'd be able to tell me. So, do you think He'll give me some nice colored kids? I plan to breed him to Nubians! I am really interested in seeing what the Kinder goat has to offer

That chocolate one is a doe, he wants $40 for her.
I would trade you something for a sweet bottle fed Nubian it you were closer...
(By the way, I love your web site!)

LOL thanks, did you see the color page? Those are all the colors I have seen, besides most of the paints. I know that if a paint comes in one color, it has to come in the rest so I just added them to the list.
See what I mean, no one lives nearby enough to get a nubian from!!! ERR! lol. I want that chocolate doe!!

Dona,
how far are you from Wi? I had chocolate colored last year and expect to get some this year, plus I have Nubians too, spotted ones to boot.My spotted nubian doe will freshen in June.
Cm,
by the way he is a medium carmel with black points. You have a 50/50 chance of getting carmel colored kids out of him.How old is he?
Good luck with him he is a beauty. We just had a medium carmel colored buckling born 4/28 and we can't wait to see if he will develop horns or not as his sire is naturally polled.

Thanks, he is a little over two months old. I'll pick him up at the end of this month, or at least that's when his owner thinks he'll be weaned.
I also bougth a three year old Pygmy buck/billy. He is black with a white crown and white socks. I'll pick him up this weekend. I plan to breed all eight of my does to Pygmies this season.
