Should I or shouldn't I?

I've been thinking of getting a milk goat. I have some wethers but have never had a milker. I was thinking of trying to find an older doe to see if this is something I want to do. Do you think this would be a good idea or should I just dive in and find a doeling? Thanks for any help.

Why not?
We got a a 4 yr old, already used to the routine of milking. It's been great! A little learning curve ( she got milk fever, had a single doe that only nurses one side, so she has a lop-sided udder... we're working on that)
But the milk is GREAT! Not like going to the store buying it convenient, but no growth hormones or antibiotics, etc...
Make sure you ask how the does milk is before you buy her- taste varies. That's one advantage of an older doe.
I wa the one who wanted the milk goats, but my hubby ended up doing the milking and he likes the milk the most of all --- go figure He likes to brag about how he HAS to pull -----s 2x a day ...men!
