4H show wether

What size do you want your 4H boer wether to be to show at the fair? I have heard 70lbs and other say 100lbs.

Depends on the fair. Different fairs and counties (and states) can have different weight limits, or none at all. Just for the record though, the bigger the better (as long as it's not all fat, and there's plenty of muscle).

I think our only requirement is to be born after Nov 1.

Our fair is the 3rd weekend in August. The requirements are they must be born after December 1st and have weigh in at 80 lbs.
They also have weigh in a few months before and have to have an average gain of 1.5 lbs. a day.
Check with your 4H rules, it seems that everyone is different.

Out here in TX, it is preferred for the goats to be born between March and May, seeing as our shows are from Dec.-early March...however, I would ask the local Ag teacher to find out for sure...
