Boer Breeders, Question about LaBoers

This is addressed to anyone with knowledge reguarding the ABGA or IBGA rules and regulations. I am a bit confused as i have heard this both ways. If a Fullblood registered Boer buck is crossed with a full sized LaMancha diary doe and has a white red-headed short-eared doeling, can that doeling be registered as a 50% even though the ears are very short like a LaManchas? I am just asking this hypothetically as these goats are becoming more prevalent. They are a nice fast growing, heat tolerant cross and we should expect to see more of them. I was just wondering if anyone had the facts on this. Again, I have heard it both ways...you can regiaster a short-eared doeling and you cannot, so what's up?

Yes, you can register them 50% Boer so long as the Boer sire is registered. My friend has registered and shown at least three of these does. I was at a Boer show in Idaho with her when she showed one of these does and there was no problem with the entry. This was IBGA.

I went to the ABGA website and ears that were not 'regulation' so to speak, ears that were short, were deemed a disqualification. I don't understand how your friend could have entered a goat in the show. That is what is confusing me. The site says one thing, folks are telling me another. Perhaps the IBGA is different.

Yes, I have two LaBoers and both are registered with the USBGA. Variations are allowed in the Percentages and they do not have to follow regulations so close......One of mine has a lemon-colored head, says so on her papers and she is registered. You can register any doeling out of a FB Boer buck, no matter the dam. You can register a 1/2 Pygmy as long as the sire is FB registered Boer.......
