Maria Kidded

She is feeling SO much better now. She was so big, if you remember, I was thinking she was going to have her second set of quads. But no this year, she had 3 good sized kids.

As we predicted, things did not progress normally. She had the first ok, but had to pull a little. The second came head first, no legs. But bubble was already busted and the kid was already breathing. We had to hold her vulva open and clean the nose so she could breath. Couldn't get her out except to pull, it was really rough and I didn't know if we could do it, but just pulled HARD and she's out and ok. The last kid came in the breech position with the hocks out pretty far.

Pictures of the kids will be on our website http://trnubian.tripod.com
under cute kid picts.

All you babies are so sweet!

Have you ever freshened a doe out of Maria? If so how did she do with kidding?

No, we have never freshened a doe out of her. Her does were sold last year and before that she never had any surviving does. I really have never found kidding problems to be genetic though from previous experiences. So i am sure they will be fine.

Thanks for the compliments!
