A problem with bens legs - help!

hi,

ive noticed recently that ben (one of my two pygmy goats) front left leg has something wrong with it. ive checked it and theres nothing in his hoof or anything like that, and its not broken. It doesnt seem to hurt him walking on it, in fact, he jumps and skips around on it... im just a bit worried.

anyone got any advice?

thanks

sezy

front left leg has something wrong with it.

Exactly what do you mean by something wrong? does he limp? is it twisted? If he is walking running etc, how do you define 'something wrong'? It would help to know his 'symptoms'!

is he

Is he a baby?
It can be splinted and will improve. It is loose tendens.
Bo_SE will also help.

hi,
his 'symptoms' as such are that it looks like hes limping on it but it doesnt seem to give him any pain.. theres nothing stuck in his hoof or anything like that, and its not broken...i dont really understand!

oh, hes not a baby, hes about 5 years old.

thanks

Check between his toes. I once had a goat that had a sore between her toes and I cleaned it out and put antibiotic ointment on it. The vet gave her a tetanus shot and had me soak her foot in epsom salt for a few days. If he doesn't have a sore, perhaps he sprained it.

i think ive worked it out... its not his actual leg thats hurt its something to do with the joint at the top of his leg. it kind of sticks outward which is causeing his hoof to point inward.
any ideas??

It sounds like his shoulder might be dislocated. I'd have the vet take a look.

thats what id like to do, but there isnt a vet within a 100 miles or so htatcares for goats aswell, and even if i could drive there, ben hates being transported, he goes balistic and i dont want to put him upder that amount of stress for such a long time.
it seems to have got worse toady, hes limping more on it.. ive felt his leg and hoof and it doesnt seem broken... i really dont know what it is.
help!
