USDA goat survey

I just got a survey form from the USDA in the mail which is addressed to sheep and goat breeders. Did any of you get one? I suppose I got on their list because I got drought relief a few years ago. They say it is to promote the goat as agriculture, but I'm wondering if it is just another way the government is spying on us.

I had someone call me too. Asked how many goats I had, what purpose they were for. I was purposefully vague and got rid of them quick. The gov. always has ulterior motives - they know too much already.

They are supposed to call me this week. I really couldn't answer a couple of the questions anyway because I don't weigh the milk and keep records. I can tell you which of my does milk over a gallon a day at their peak production, but that's about it. I keep a small herd and sell some goats every year in order to keep my numbers within reason and the income from the sales goes to buy food for the goats. I keep goats because I love them and enjoy goat cheese. Maybe I'll luck out and be at work when they call. My DH doesn't talk to people he doesn't know, especially if they are from the govt.
