Talking Oops!

My daughter informed me that little salt wasn't a doeling but a buck! So, I had to go see for myself. Sure enough, I sexed him wrong! Well, at least his name still fits...LOL!

I found out that there is an easier way to sex them, other than searching for a sack. if you have ever seen a does vulva, which I am sure you have, you will notice that the does seem to have a little triangle that sticks out, the bucklings just have a smooth area. It makes it MUCH easier to sex them at birth. Good Luck with them. Bye.

A Buck has his Private near his middle while a Does has near her rear end.

Many years ago, my "then" husband, was so proud that he had brought me home a calico doe kid, (he was working at the sale barn) it was late, so i didn't go see HER till morning chores-sure enough calico, sure enough cute, and sure enough NOT a doe!! He had just looked for a "sack"-not under the tail-i had to educate him...
