Need a name for our dairy

Hi All! I am having a very difficult time coming up with a name for our Dairy Goat Farm. I'd like something with a Biblical basis, but not too snarky, and if it could be alliterative, it would help...any ideas out there?

2727 [farm] [dairy] [dairy farm] [goat ranch]

Proverbs 27:27
You will have plenty of goats' milk to feed you and your family and to nourish your servant girls.

I just wanted to say that I REALLY like DrippingSprings suggestion, Old Zion Dairy, it sounds nice. By the way bill, that is cute, so how about 2727 Old Zion Dairy.

Are you registering with ADGA? or what? We just went through this, and had quite a time finding a herd name that was available with both AGS and ADGA since we wanted the option of dual registering. ADGA has an online herdname search which is helpful to find out if names are availabe. Also, ADGA was very patient at repeatedly checking the list over the phone for us. If you plan to register a herd name with both, make sure ADGA has it first since they have a more limited selection.

Also, and this was the hard part for us, with ADGA you can't have a name if it sounds too much like another one. We wanted the name "Upon the Rock" but someone already had "Upon a Rock". Also, you are limited by how the other forms of the name is used. For example, if someone already has "Thankful", then you can't have "Thankful4" but you can have something before "Thankful" such as "So Thankful".

If someone has the name you want, make sure to find out if that person is an active member. Maybe they died or no longer want the name any more. That was the case with us. I contacted the owner, and he said I could have it. Then I just had to get it in writing from him and send that in with my request for the name. If they died, you need a death certificate or something like that.

Anyway, maybe that was more information than you needed.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the advice, everyone!
I hadn't thought of that verse from Proberbs, although we love it!
We had a music teacher who moved to upstate NY to a farm. For a sign for his property he put up a picture of the first few measures of a Bacj chorale entitled "Sheep May Safely Graze." I thought that was very creative.
Blessings, Jillis
