Need help choosing a turnout sheet

Hi everyone. I am completely ignorant regarding horses, turnout sheets and anything remotely related. My girlfriend's birthday is coming up and I know she wants a turnout sheet for her horse. I cant ask too much or it will ruin the surprise ( she says she doesnt want anything and thinks im not getting her anything).

She siad her horse is a 69 denire size?? What does this mean? Can you recommend a good site to find a decent sheet? What should I look for? Horse is 15 hands with solid build.

Weatherbeeta is by far the best turnout on the market, well Rambo is right up there but they are horribly expensive. The denier is the thickness of the material (the density of the fibers) not a size , and you'll want 1200 denier. Make sure it's waterproof AND breathable. I think the model I use is Freestyle. To measure start at the middle of the chest to the middle of the tail, if it's a half go up. I usually an an inch to the measurement too.

Since it is to be a surprise you may want to get a size 76 or 78 (offering this size because my sisters horse is 15.2 hands and that is roughly the size she wears). But you may want to find out the return policy and let you girlfriend exchange it should it be to big or to small. Just a suggestion

Could just get her a gift certificate to an online catalogue that sells horse blankets, like Schneider's (Horse Supplies, Horse Tack, Horse Sheets, Fly Sheets and much more from Schneider Saddlery) or National Roper's Supply (Horse Blankets - NRSworld.com).

There are so many size, weight, and color combinations that it may be better to let her choose the exact one she wants.

That's true, but depending on how your girlfriend feels, a gift certificate my be a bit impersonal for her? You know her best though she may appreciate the gift certificate just as much if not more so.... But for me? if someone bought me a blanket for my horse if he/she thought it would look nice on my baby i would think it would look nice on her (just because of the thought). it's your call though.
