I'm just so excited!

Many of you may remember that I bought my dd a horse for Christmas. Tucker, a little swayback, some minor issues. Dd has been riding as much as she can.

Well this morning dh and bro was having to move 2 different sets of heifers, they wanted dd to help guide them on her horse. I have been very nervous about this since I don't know what he would do around cattle being pushed by 2 four wheelers (watched by the whole neighborhood--mostly family). They had about 300 to move. down the road. I had an appt and couldn't be here. I saddled Tucker up at 7:30 and left dd riding to warm Tucker up (it's been a week since he's been ridden).

Well turned out that dd and Tucker did great. She rode in the field with them a little while, they followed her. She rode through the gate and they got after the cattle with the 4x4's. They ran out and scattered (these were the bunch of really young heifers), but eventually they followed, ran all around her scared and Tucker didn't bat an eyelash!!!

The 2nd group was quite a bit older and they had to move down the road and had 2 turns to make. They followed her perfectly!! They stayed behind her and went where she did.

I'm just so excited, dh is not a horse person at all, but he was so proud he almost cried. lol. Dd is 10 years old.

I wish we had it on video, I wasn't even home and dh couldn't video from a 4 wheeler. Moving days are very hectic..

Next time I'll be sure to get someone to video it.

what a wonderful experience for your DD and what a way for her and Tucker to build a bond and learn to trust one another.
