New Pony

Happy to introduce my new pony: "Kiss me Kate" aka Katie. She is a welsh, 7 yrs old and a Bay roan. Darling mare rides wonderful, and sweet natured. I think she will fit in just great!
I spent time working with then riding her bareback today. I am looking forward to spending time with her.
I will post new pics when I get her home.

OMG, what a cute fat pony! Seriously, VERY cute. So cool when "pony" isn't preceded by the word "obnoxious"... ;-)

Worth her weight in gold if she's as broke & kid-safe, to boot!

She is broke and kid safe! However fat! lmao..
I cant wait to get my hands on her Bath, bows, ribbons......hehe
I have never had the pleasure of taking weight off a horse only adding. So this is going to be interesting. Any tips? Besides light exercise working up and a 3lb feed decrease a day? Its very hot here so I dont want to over do it.

Seriously cute pony ... and I love roans. Always wanted to own a blue roan, never did, though I've had a couple of bay roans and one chestnut/sabino roan (not sure if she is extreme sabino or roan + sabino).

She is a pretty girl! I like her. I've never had a roan.

On the weight, I see no need to feed a concentrate at all. That's for a horse that is working too hard to keep weight on grass. I'm working on a pony right now that got fat and finally foundered on grass alone. He wasn't far from punching through the sole. Just get her a real good mineral/vitamin supplement. As little iron as possible.

Oh LOL, I thought Minelson's picture was another of your mare at first.

Thanks yall, looks like she will be coming home today in the next few hours!
I think thats a good idea, I will stop her feed and supplement with loose mineral and vit mix.
I will also get some good pics today

Absolutely adorable! I think you have it, lots of hugs and kisses and not so much food and she'll be great!

My 3/4 Arab mare came to me thin, but in a month on good hay and minerals she was plump and sassy. Your pony won't need much and will do better without grain, etc. She's just sweet looking. Can't wait for more pictures!

She's so pretty (and blimpy! lol). She won't look so huge when she's slimmed down a bit. Grass hay, minerals, dry lot and moderate work and she'll be lovely in no time! Her feet look good from those pictures though, that's a plus. Thanks for the pictures, she has the sweetest face, I hope you'll have a great time with her.

Haha, and I was just going to say she looks tiny (other than the chub!), she is really cute though!

Dry lot and exercise will slim her down in no time.

My neighbor asked...When is she due ...LOL...

So far so good, seems to be getting along with wrangler and Brock very well. ( minus the few spats) and I think she will fit in fine!

My kids are laughing because her mane is part afro. I need to clip her bridle path...I was going to keep her in the paddock but I was worried she was going to break through so she is out with wrangler and Brock. They are doing fine.

She is really cute. But yes, dry lot and grass hay! She's the type that I worry about foundering easily just on green grass (I've had a couple of those). Get the weight off and she's going to be a really fancy little mare.

Do you still have Fred?? LOL

She looks great, and no more adventures when you both decide to ride.
