Anyone near Elmira NY???

I called and left a message with this person today...will let you know what they say.
I certainly dont need another fancy pasture ornament and Im quite sure DH would just roll his eyes, shake his head and then hook up the trailer. I just dont know if I have the time right now...OY!!!!

Edited to add: And Im not all that sure that our old boys would take to kindly to sharing their pasture and space which would mean new fencing and new stall...OH BOY!!!

You're not handling things right. Instead of having the age old discussion (can we afford, do we need, is it the right time, etc), you bring said 4 legged creature home, stick a bow on it's halter and quickly hand it over. 'Honey, you know how I like to spread out the cost of all those special occasions so when I found you the perfect birthday/late father's day, early Christmas, 3rd, or because it was really far cheaper than another baby.

I can assure you, it takes a pretty negative person to reject a carefully selected gift.

As for barn mates, 'shove over, you've got company,' seems to work well for me.

Oh yeah, the boys are gonna like her! No problem with a mare and geldings! I hope you get her.

And I have to say, she probably has a lot of spunk left in her! Our 28 year old quarter horse is walking away from playdays with halters, buckles, ribbons. She has it down pat. The little 4 year old that rides her is in love.

Great approach, wr!

Enablers!!!!Absolute enablers!!!LOL!!!DH is pretty much a pushover and doesnt say no to much...Im almost afraid to go "look" at her, I have a bad feeling that if we do...she will be coming home LOL!!!!
Spoke with a friend of mine who owns the local riding stables and she said she is familar with this person and that yes they are in fact legitimate rescuers. They often take in old, abandoned and/or unwanted animals nurse them back to health and give them away to the "right family." Amazing folks according to her....oh boy!!!!What am I doing???LOL!

So, what are you waiting for, make that call and get a nice ribbon and warn the boys that they're going to have girl cooties in their zone.
