Talking Just wanted to tell all of you!

Just wanted to tell all of you that my parents have finally deemed three of our 6 heifers old enough to breed, the others are way too young, and isn't it our luck but two of them are already in heat, so we will be taking them to my grandparents really soon, and in about nine months, hopefully, have new baby cows. Sorry I'm just so excited, we have had these girls for about a year and a half. Thanks for putting up with me. Bye.

Very cool, what breed are they? Or are they crossbred cattle? It is an interesting trick catching cattle in heat, especially when you have to notice when they are jumping because they are showing dominance, or are jumping because they are in heat. There is a difference, usually it is the persistance, over the quick jump then they don't bother again all day. However! Some are quiet, to the point where they do not jump, and usually stand off so no one jumps them. We have a red holstein that is like that, however she came into a good heat the day we came back from the fair and got her bred, yet to come into heat .

I am looking forward to next October, hopefully I will have a bunch calving, 4 Jerseys and 9 or 10 holsteins (I might breed one to calve out at 24 months in time for the fair). The other 3 are bred, and one I hope the bull breeds this weekend.

Ours are mutt cows, got them at auction. But they do have what would appear to be nothing but meat breeds in them, lots of Brahma in one, at least a little Brahma in the rest, one looks like she could be a pureblood beefmaster, one has horns and curly hair, and one is white with brown markings, not holestein though she started out red then gradually got lighter. Good luck with your cows. Bye.
