cotton seed???

I just picked up my feed order...or rather it was delivered bya friend...when I looked at the receipt, it had cotton seed, rather than the ordered Z pellets. will this matter? I hate to load up all those bags and haul them back to the farm supply...the other ingredients were all correct...cracked corn, barley, molasses and salt and the gluten...so I thought i would consult the experts here and see what you think...I was not charged for the Z pellets...if I had been the one to pick it all up, I would have asked them to redo it the way I had ordered, but since it is already here I need to know if it is ok for the cows..thanks..Genna

Cotton seed meal is a good protein source often used in quality cattle feed. I haven't a clue as to what Z pellets are or their purpose.

Z pellets are pelletized cotton seed meal, I am pretty sure...what I got is cotton seed. whole fuzzy seeds. I just want to make sure these will be ok if the cows eat them. otherwise the feed mixture was the same as what we have been getting...anyone else have any thoughts on this? Genna

Cotton seed (whole) is a great source of protein and fat, BUT it can reduce the fertility of bulls. If you're growing calves out, it should be fine, but you might check with the feed store and/or your vet if you need to feed it to breeding males.
