Whoo Hoo!!! First new baby!!(Dexter)

God's Homestead has its first born Dexter!! HE came early this morning..from Sadie who was a heifer.

I said that birthing was the only thing that has been talked about with the Dexters that we did not know about. Well, we have a good idea now. He is a big boy..and she had NO problems having him..that is thrilling with a heifer.

She seems to have gone right to mothering.

We separated everyone else off to another pasture to give her and baby boy some good bonding time together.

We are sooo excited..as we have a young bull and only one on the ground to go by. We are real happy with his second one too!

Congrats! That is great news that your heifer had the calf with no problems and then went straight to mothering over him.

We have some Dexters and really enjoy them, I am always out checking on them when calves are due, its a great time of year.

=)

Congrats on your new little one, always good news when things go well. Are you planning to milk?
