How Big of a Stall?

Hi,
for a full-grown Jersey cow, how big of a stall does she need? She will only be in it at night and when not pastured. I have the option of making the stall 8X8, 10X10, or 8X12.
Thanks
faye

Pens

Depends a bit on how it's built, but my calving pens are 10x10 and 9x12 and I'd definitely rather have the 8x12 than the square pens, as long as you can feed her at the 8' side. A rectangular pen makes it easier to train her to have a bedded area at the back and a manure area you can scrape out at the front where she eats and drinks. If you can't feed at the 8' end then it doesn't make a big difference. 8x8 is too small, at least if she might be calving there

Thanks for the tip. Experience is the best teacher. I can feed at the 8' side
