FS: Holstein

A Mennonite acquaintance of ours has a Holstein for sale. (We bought our Jersey from his brother 3 years ago.) I do not have much information right now but will contact him later this evening and post what I know.

She is currently in milk and is giving 32#-38# a milking.

Located in NW IL

The idea situation that the owner of the cow is looking for is to GIVE the cow to someone local (yes free) with the stipulation that he could still get some of the milk.

Would he be interested in selling her? I would love a milk cow but have not been able to find one that is reasonably priced and close to me. If he is interested what is the price and age ?

Paul thinks he would. When he gets back on Saturday, I'll have him give Maynard (the owner) a call to ask.

I believe she is 7-8 years old. Paul can ask more about her history (always been a family cow vs a dairy cow) when he talks with Maynard. I do believe Maynard mentioned she is on an oat ration.
