Homestead Cow Picture

Hi everyone. I wanted to share a picture of my little milk cow and her calf. The cow is 3/4 Jersey and 1/4 Dexter. She is 48" tall at the hip and about 1000#. She just had her first calf 10 days ago. She is a real nice little milker, but doesn't overwhelm me with milk. The calf is a heifer sired by an Angus. She's polled and we are hoping she'll make a nice family cow that will also produce beefy calves.

Great pic! Looks like you got a keeper, esp when the milk is just about the right amount for you all!

Yes, what a great photo! A nice stocky calf, and momma looks like she has a real fine bag. Congrats, sounds like you're off to a good start there!
