Homemade Buttermilk

Just wondering what it's supposed to taste like. I'm wondering if I did it right. Quite sour almost like plain homemade yogurt. Coats the side of the glass when tipped, etc. I know some people like to drink it plain. To me it's for cooking. Right now I'm using it as part of a receipe I'm feeding my orphaned lamb.

Really good buttermilk ought to be sour enough to make a pig squeal.
