How long is frozen colostrum good for??

We froze about two gallons of colostrum. How long can we keep it?? If we do need it for future calves, what is the best way to thaw it without losing any nutrients??

I freeze mine in 2 litre coke bottles & when I need one, I fill the kitchen sink with hot water & put it in there to thaw. After enough is thawed for 1 feeding, I put the rest (still frozen) in the refrigerator to continue thawing slowly until I need more. I have kept some 2 years or more. I guess it was still good, at least the calf that drank it thought so. I don't think it would be a good idea to thaw it in the microwave because it would kill the good bacteria in it.

Freeze it in "single servings" in zip-lock bags. Thaw by putting in warm water, not hot. Do NOT microwave.

I throw it out after a year.
