Cow Cam

I have been waiting for this to get here for a while. We bought a pretty high powered PTZ camera to hopefully make checking cows during calving easier.... I like what I see so far...

This is the one that we got. There are several options and prices. IMO, this is one of the better places for outdoor farm cams....

What a nice tool to have. When I think of all the trips out in miserable weather to check the cows! I'm sure this system would allow even closer monitoring without the risk of frostbite to the owner. I could have used a system like this for the cattle and even more so when we had a sheep flock. I remember spending nights in the feed room with minimum heat, just so I was closer to check on things.

KS farmer, I think it is really going to be nice at night. Anytime you wake up all you have to do is take a peek at the camera and see what is going on. It certainly won't replace going out there to check, I still think going out to look is pretty important, you can read a lot from them when they see you coming.... but it will lessen the workload at night especially, and the more sleep we get the better things will be!

That looks like a real nice system. We just installed wireless cameras in the barn pens for kidding/lambing. Wow, it sure is nice to be able to see (and hear) when things are going down. I'm done with traipsing out to check for deliveries at all hours of the night. Now I just check the monitor on my nightstand.
