I could swear I posted about this last night, but I was very tired, and my computer has been acting up, so maybe I didn't post it successfully and didn't notice!
ANYWAY! This pretty lady ---->

who currently lives on the farm where I work, will be spending her retirement at the Krishna cow sanctuary down in Moundsville, WV!
She was slated to go to slaughter at 500+ days in milk, after failing to conceive a second calf. However, the good people at the International Society for Cow Protection graciously agreed to take her in and give her a "forever home" on their beautiful farm, where she'll spend her summers grazing nearly 100 acres of pasture with the rest of their herd. The ISCOWP farm is truly a paradise for cows! Check it out:

I will be forever grateful to Balahabra and Chayadevi, and their generous donors, for making this possible! "Kalindi" (her new Krishna name) will be joining her former herdmates Madhavi (formerly Madeleine) and Vegan Indira (formerly Jeanne) who were previously rescued by ISCOWP.
Kalindi will be the ninth dairy cow I have been able to prevent from going to slaughter.
Words I live by:
One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed
a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the water.
Approaching the boy, he asked, "What are you doing?"
The youth replied, "Throwing starfish back into the ocean.
The surf is up and the tide is going out.
If I don't throw them back, they'll die."
"Son," the man said, "don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?
You can't make a difference!"
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf.
Then, smiling at the man, he said, "I made a difference for that one."
