I've decided that now would be a good time in life to completely level my corral, alleyway, sorting pens, and squeeze chute and start over. I'm tired of bailing wire fixes....

I have always wished I had a quick reading digital scale to get a read on dam performance. I am contemplating a portable one in the alleyway. Does anyone have one/ use one that would like to comment? How would you go about the justification?

My vet mentor offered to loan his portable set up to me to try. I never took him up on it so that helped me see that I really didn't need to be that precise yet because I didn't even want to try it.

You and your cattle will really benefit from improved handling facilities right away. My dad used to test my thinking with the basic 3--do you want it, do you need it, can you afford it. I have lightened up to satisfying only 2 of 3. Sometimes, I have to wait a little. For now, I get by OK with a tape.

You can get ready for the load bars and accessories for your system. Do you need to justify? Not to me.

I have load bars under my chute they are not specific to cattle. I think it was under $500 but it was a gift I love knowing how much everyone weights. Helps me with management, also nice to know what they are when selling.
