calf "depressed" after vaccination-normal?

I haven't posted in literally years, but need some advice due to my "parent-noia":

Brief history:
In June, we got a call from a friend's ranch manager that they had twin black baldies and one was weak; did we have goat milk? we did, and then we offered to buy the smaller calf. He definitely was hungry but vigorous and has grown well. We do know he had mom's colostrum. He has never had a health issue and at almost 6 months old, is getting approximately 1-1.5 gallons of goat milk a day, grain, and free choice oat hay with alfalfa at night (only because he's living with the boer goats, who get alfalfa at night). He has been weighed monthly and on Nov. 28, weight taped at "moderate body condition" with a 530 something pounds.

Yesterday we vaccintated with an 8-way and Somnubac. Today he came to the gate, ate his grain (on 6 lbs/day) and drained his milk. BUUUT, he is not his usual preteen, sassypants self. Just a bit "off". Usually when we put him away he gallops to the run-through to eat with his lady goat friends. Today he just stood at the fence and kind of stared off. Is post vaccination "blues" normal?
I worry because a weird high fever is running through the dairy goat herd, and he is getting their milk. Because they are pregnant, we are using high dose penicillin and its working (all are recovering within 3 days), but that points to some sort of bacterial thing moving through them and so I am FREAKING out that I've unintentionally given him a clostridial or somesuch infection. Should I treat him with biomycin or penG or something tonight, if he has a fever? I'd appreciate your thoughts!

I would treat him. Hes with a herd that has a bacterial infection moving threw. I would treat him too. he most likely caught what they had.

He's developed a high fever...103.7 then 104.1, then yesterday was at 105 when vet came...had the vet out yesterday to pull blood and do a nasal swab. She also gave him banamine. Gave him biomycin, 24 cc day before yesterday, and vet tech called to say to continue, so he'll get 24 cc this afternoon. Temp this morning was normal at 101.4 but will be interested to see what blood panel finds. Cant remember what the nasal swab will test for but it can be passed in milk. Not Listeriosis, not toxoplasmosis (I think), but am soo tired right now cannot remember. Am totally bummed. Am a goat person and now feel should have started vaccines much earlier, but our cattle rancher person told us at 4-6 months. Vet said bottle calves are different and should be vaccinated more often like goats...1 month, 2 months, and 3 months...
