Steer calf ate a fabric softener sheet

Is this the oddest question you've seen in a while? Probably so.

Well, my mother just came running inside to alert me that "Moo moo just ate a fabric softener sheet!"
Moo moo is a JerseyxHolstein steer, about 3 months old, and I feed him milk twice a day with free choice feed and water, and obviously, softener sheets are a rare delicacy for him.

Should I give him anything to help it pass easier? Are the ingredients of the softener sheet going to kill him? I have no idea why there was a softener sheet in the yard, but my guess is my mother was doing something with clothes and one happened to get blown into the yard (it's a windy day).

I am going to guess he will be fine. This was probably a USED sheet, right?
They aren't really big enough to create a blockage, unless it would be a real fluke situation.

If it is any consolation, I once watched a bottle calf eat a whole Walmart sack (the plastic kind).
I was running full out to get it away from him, but failed to make it in time.
Thought for SURE there would be a colicky bloated calf on deaths door by nightfall.

He was perfectly fine! Pooped it out the next day. So yeah.

Good luck.

I'm guessing OK too. Probably will have a little Bounce in its step for a couple days. Makes for softer beef.

I have seen a bright blue plastic bag that I could not get close enough to pull out of a cows mouth, get (regurged) and then pass sometime later. Pasture is near a state road and lots of things get tossed out.

Calves eat all sorts of odd things. I watched one devour a shoebox once. Looked to have been enjoying himself, so I didn't stop it. As long as it ain't metal or pokey, I wouldn't worry.

Yep seen ours nibbling on a political sign that blew into the field, pulled it away... no issues.

My laundry on very windy days sometimes blows over into the neighbors property. Nothing like retrieving chewed up articles. Who knows what they have eaten.
