cow bulling

i have a cow that should be pregnant by now (calved on 4/27). she was mounting my bull yesterday. does this mean for sure that she is not pregnant. he is usually a pretty aggressive breeder and bred one of our other cows two days before but he wanted nothing to do with this cow. Can cows come into a false heat when they are pregnant??

Yes, they can. But make note of this on your calendar and see if the same thing happens in 18-22 days. If so, I'd have her pregnancy checked.

I have had cows false cycle--and fool everyone except the bull (self included). If you have all of the typical signs of heat but the bull is not interested, my guess is that he has already done is business in a prior cycle.

You may have had another cow cycle. My white cow holly does this. She goes nuts with everyone cycling even the goAts. Just had her checked. She's pregnant with a bull calf.
