Pasture find ,calf poo???

just now found this in the pasture at first thought it looked like newborn calf diarrhea (I have 2 cows w calfs 5 weeks and 9 weeks in that pasture)but I don't know if you can tell from the picture it has the piece in the Middle that looks like something would come out of a bird like an owl or a coyote or or something its like a turd shaped piece of hair but around it is this white gooey stuff that I can't make out what it is its smells slightly like I'll call it gelding wax I was thinking it could be milk, my one cow is leaking milk a lot, I could see her standing in one spot and curdling and souring and looking like that but doesn't really smell like sour milk unless it don't because it's been out on the fresh air?
I have seen big birds flying around near the pastor circling and landing really close but could that possibly come out of a bird with the white stuff ?could it be coincidence that they regurgitate it on the white stuff? Or could that possibly come out of a 5 week or 9 week old calf and why? The calves are acting fine!
sorry so long....

Found out it is calf poo I stayed in the pasture and waited and the five week old pooed and it was almost like that but it was more yellow you didn't squirt but it was pretty runny but more GooeyI guess.
I got a call into the vet and I'm waiting to hear back from him to see what to do ....

well I've talked to my vet and he seems to think it's probably from the calf starter that I just started putting out a few days ago because the other calf, her mom is really small and does not have a lot of milk so I thought that way I'll supplement her a little.
He says most likely it's from the dietary change and watch her if she is either not acting right or it doesn't get better in 3 days bring in a stool sample.
He's always been right so far !

I had a bummer calf that had this same issue when I started him on calf manna. It resolved after a couple weeks, but worried me until then. If you can get close to the calf you could try Probios, that would help with digestion and clear up the runny poo problem.

It's not tame ,so I don't want to give it more stress if I don't have to . I checked later and found some poo a little yellower and firmer so I'm hoping its already getting better but I will keep a close eye and take in stool sample if not better by Friday . Thanks !

It's probably just taking in lots of milk, has a little milk scour. You may not need the extra grain.
To be sure take in a sample to the vet, it's cheap, and have them test for coccidiosis.

The Grain was for the other calf because her mother its so small .
I was going to do that what you said just taking a sample to make sure but the next day it was more than halfway normal again and then Friday it was perfectly normal so I guess once again my vet was right! I'm just glad and lucky that I can call him and ask him stuff and he usually calms me down cause I always think the worst !
I try to only call him once or twice between yearly visits and he appreciates baked goods ..which I'm behind on lol.
Here's a pic ..the back ones calf is 2 days shy of 2 months old ,the big ones 1 month ...both registered highlands !
I'm thinking the black one ,Skye,is more like the original highlands...the big one ,didi,is built like a Holstein ...she might be the largest Scottish highland ever !
