I am looking for someone that can AI my jersey cow. Or maybe has a purebred jersey bull.

Most large animal vets do AI. Or your vet or feed store my know who in your area is a trained AI technician. As far as a bull goes you would have to take your cow to the bull and that's just not a good idea in my opinion....Find an AI tech or a dairyman that knows how to work a straw...Topside

We just had our vet palpate our Jersey and give her a prostaglandin injection. At the first sign of a heat in the next few days, our semen provider will send out a technician and breed her AI. They provide sex sorted sperm, so we have a reasonable chance of getting a heifer out of it. There are lots of dairy operations around here, so maybe we are just lucky, but there is a good system in place in rural North America.
Failing all that, most reasonable sized dairy farms seem to do their own breeding, and will not only have experience, but likely have samples in storage and al the gear necessary.

If I were 700 miles closer I'd be happy to help. Ha, I wouldn't even have to stand on a milk crate to breed a Jersey!

Thanks everyone. Most of the dairy farms have sold out and the vets only do small animals. I will call Select Sires tomorrow and see if they know of anyone in my area that does AI.

I found a local vet who will do the AI for $20. Having a little trouble ordering the sexed semen. Just waiting for a price.

Update!

I did find some sexed straws for my jersey cow. She had a nice heifer calf on
6/22/15 just 2 days after her due date.

I used Select Sires, you can look up the sires on their website. The website has a number you can call and they will put you in touch with an AI person in your area.

The AI guy found me some sexed semen from an A2/A2 sire for just $20 per straw.

If you are going to be hand milking look for a sire that will produce longer teats. The dairy farms in my area have used sires that produce the shorter teats so much that they are now having trouble keeping the milkers on the cows.
