Now I'm wondering whether her calf will be mostly black or white?!
The suspense is gonna kill me.

The last time I saw him, he was in a straw!

She is as black as he is white, so who knows what the calf will look like?

I've said I didn't want anymore white cows, because they're too hard to keep clean!

Should be a very nice calf! How long do you have to wait to find out?

IF she is pregnant (still don't know for sure, but she hasn't come into heat since she's been here) she is due Dec. 9!

She was confirmed pregnant via milk testing in May, but my boss thought she was bulling again when she jumped Pap. However, she bulled through the beginning of her last pregnancy, which is why we kept breeding her, thinking she was in heat when she was already pregnant, so she had a calf 2 months sooner than expected, right around the time we were set to dry her off. (We weren't preg-checking then; we only started since Antelbio came out with the new milk-based tests.)

I can't imagine why that bull hasn't died of embarrassment! What a sight! If they weren't holding his nose up, surely he'd have chewed off that ridiculous tail!

A good animal should be able to stand on its own without a ridiculous amount of Photoshop like that.

Hey, not every cow can have a tail made out of leopard-print vet wrap and baler twine like Marianne!

I remember when I was a child, someone gave me a powder puff which looked quite similar.

My cows have mud in their tails and even when I brush them out, they still look like hair.

Obviously I'm short-changing them by not applying shampoo, conditioner, drier ....

I am just glad the baby will be born (hopefully) before the REALLY cold weather sets in here! Last January was just brutal ...

Of course, he or she (and Momma) will have a nice, snug shed to sleep in, and I plan to buy a calf coat in advance so I'll have it on hand when the baby comes. They look so cute in their little jackets ...

And it will be ready to start nibbling grass by the time spring gets here!
