Annabelle - the weird little cow
Well, the ultrasound seemed to show that AB had all of her equipment and no signs of cysts, but she has small ovaries and at the time didn't seem to have the proper development of corpus lectum something or other...anyway, we gave her a shot of Chorionic gonadotiopin (sp) on 21st of June.....nothing happened...yesterday morning when I was feeding I noticed she had puffy vulva and clear and mucus discharge, but I didn't see any signs of heat or Walden showing much attention...17 days after the shot...such an odd little cow...she bagged up a little, and even gave a bit of milk when Walden first came and was sneaking a nurse in here and there..so something works..sometimes.....I have seen her in a full standing heat...showed signs of ovulation..then she skips, sometimes months at a time..AI has not worked...many tries...well, if she gets in calf it will be Walden, don't have any misconceptions about the likelihood of success, just not going to spend anymore time or money on AI. shame, she is the perfect size, hand broke, pretty slick little cow....
