Girls and Bulls

The other day I was helping a female cattle farmer and her teenage daughter load a bull. The big guy wouldn't budge, so the lady tells her daughter to 'encourage' him with the hot shot. The girl does it, but first she places the prod very deliberately on the bull's testicles.

I was a bit taken aback. Any of you guys ever seen or heard of something like that happening?

As a matter of fact it got him on the truck extremely quickly...

I'd be willing to bet that they were loading him up to haul him to the sale barn because he either didn't get all the cows bred last year for some unknown reason or he failed his breeding soundness exam this year.

It's probably a big mystery to them as to why every bull they buy seems to eventually have this problem, but they're probably pretty sure that it couldn't have anything to do with getting zapped like that every time he isn't moving fast enough.

I should ask them about that!

Although I hate to think how many prolonged shocks to the nuts it would take to affect breeding ability like that.

She probably just hates men and is taking it out on this guy.

You might ask her if a cow doesn't move, does she stick the hot shot up the vagina?

Was around cattle most of my life. Been around lots of hot shots being used. Never really seen anyone have to or choose to shock on the testicles. Makes no sense to me. My guess is after to many of those shocks you may end up with a very aggressive bull towards humans.

Hot Shot should be a LAST resort in just about any situation unless it's an emergency.

I couldn't tell ya where our hotshot is right now.... I'm sure it is around here *somewhere*.... I've yet to have an animal 2 of us couldn't get loaded or moved where we wanted it.

I'm also curious about the effect of hot shot to the testes and sperm viability... interesting thought there.

Well at the very least I imagine it removes all thoughts of breeding from the bull's head for a while lol.

Some people are just stupid or cruel. Even worse is when they are both. I must be getting old because I tend to speak up now ehen I see it when I wouldn't have in the past. I used to work for a guy that used the hot shot a lot. I don't own one.

They are not pleasant. I remember as a kid 4-10 years old my SF thought it was funny to reach across the pickup with the hotshot and shock my sister and I. It was almost as much fun to make us test hot wire fences with our hands. Because of this I don't personally use hot shots but I have seen folks that use them when necessary and without overdoing it. Most other farmers know I don't care for them so if they bring them out they are very cautious with them.

............I'm surprised the bull didn't get his wanger caught on one side of the trailer ! , lol , fordy
