Jerseys?

Can anyone tell me if these are jerseys? Or if they are jersey cross? This was taken late last year, they are a bit bigger now and are starting to get their horns.

The photo on the right looks all jersey...the one on the left looks like cross with something.

I'm inclined to agree with above - the calf to the left looks to have something else, possibly Friesian, while the calf on the right looks to be straight Jersey.

Cheers,
Ronnie

I'm pretty weak at ID'ing breeds. We have two Brown Swiss crossed with something. The one on the left has similar looking white belly splashes and white snout. It may be the "something" that is giving them those features, though.

Both straight up jerseys. I've had a lot like the spotty one. Real cute calves, whatever they are!

I'm not good with photos, we have had straight Jerseys like the one on left but from photo he looks to me to be Jersey/Holstein. In fact I have two that are Jer/Hol one looks just about like yours the other has less spots.

They both look Jersey to me. Those spotted Jerseys are just adorable. Our Clover is spotted but has has textbook Jersey coloring. I have seen those like your spotted though. Head is def all jersey.

HoJos are usually pretty much all black. I can't recall ever seeing one that spotted. Most white I've seen is a bit around the bag.

Alright thanks yall. I just wanted to make sure I had the same breed. Also if I were to breed the spotted jersey with an all brown jersey cow how would the little calf turn out? Spotted as well? Thanks for the help yall.

likely to have some spots but with any unknown genes it's just a guessing game your just as liable to have 3 all yellow jersey calves then have one pop up spoted or nearly black, we just had a jersey Hosteen x angus cow crossed with a black baldy bull have a calf that would pass for a pure herford '. some how the jersey blood line shows through even after several generations of out crossing with horns and those eyes
