Bright eyed and active, with a clean tail (no runny diarrhea). Don't know what prices might be in your area, but is this for meat? A heifer being sold from a dairy might be a freemartin and wouldn't be able to breed (which is why the dairy would be getting rid of it). If this is important to you, better know if it's a twin or not. Milk replacer will be fine. Get the highest quality one you can get. Don't cheap out on milk replacer.
