If you are unable to locate as lowline, don't give up. You may be able to buy a nice steer, normal size, but offer to sell half when it is butcher time. Should make enough to cover fed costs and maybe some towards the next steer. Just trying to help.

Look at the assn web site: www.usa-lowline.org

Find a breeder near you, see what they have available.

You can check Craig's List, too. Go to the 'For Sale'...'Farm and Garden'...type: Lowline in the search field. If there's nothing right in your area it will often list surrounding areas that match your criteria.

Like Haypoint says...I'd also check under Steer... It will make a good comparison on pricing, too. You can find good deals on Lowlines from time to time, but often they are priced way over what you could pay for a quality Angus steer of same age, but larger frame. You can always look to sell a portion of your steer if you don't want to keep that much meat.

Best of luck to you.
