What do your critters get for christmas?

Every christmas eve for twenty-five years I've gone out and passed round goodies (carrots, apples, bread, the occasional candy cane). Think Shaun the sheeps christmas

Anyone else do something special for the stock?

I generally sing popular carols during chore-time, plus double their grain rations if they are deserving....OP, just having some wintertime fun. Enjoy Christmas, Topside

Extra bale of hay. Grandpa always did the same. He died when I was to young to remember but dad told me he always fed an extra bale at Christmas so I do it to remember him more then anything.

The cattle got a little grain tonight, and the pigs got some soaked rolled corn in addition to some slop...not sure they get the true meaning of Christmas though...

Christmas Day the horses and cows all get 4 or 5 apple slices each. Usually they mob the fenceline for their 'Christmas presents' but this year we had 3" of frozen mud on top of a foot of thawed mud so we had to take the treats out to some who wouldn't come up. Christmas night the barn cats, house cats and dog get turkey. Belated Merry Christmas to all and a Happy and prosperous New Year!

Nothing like mud to take the fun out of feeding treats.
Our barn cats got the head and skin from the christmas fish; happy cats.

My dog gets these little rawhide things. They're stocking shaped and inside you can fill it with anything you can stick into it so I mix her kibbles and peanut butter then freeze it for 30 mins. That's a busy heeler. My steer got an actual "present". A hanging horse ball that he's been bucking, kicking and ramming at ever since. Happy animals. Turns out thats why I had to make that topic about my limping steer. He was bucking so much, the vet said he must of dislocated his shoulder and popped it back in. No more 24/7 ball. Silly steer :/
