Milk Cows...Four Quarters?

I've tried to Google what it means when someone says, "All four quarters are good..." but not quite sure how to phrase it, so haven't found good results yet...

So, in an attempt to save myself some frustration, I figured I'd go to people who already know the answer to the question...It's probably already been asked on here somewhere, but I'm at my limit with searches so please, have pity on me and just give it to me straight...Please tell me what a "quarter" is and how I determine if they're "good, bad or ugly."

Thank you.

Keep in mind during your education that all four quarters are in no way connected to each other....Topside

There are 4 sections to the udder, so they're called "quarters".
