We just missed the ice, about 4" of snow and it's snowing alittle bit more now, the night time temps close to 0 some nights, thankfully very little wind so the cows and horses have been doing fine. I'll be on hay the rest of the winter, my rye grass didn't come up.

What type grass will you have for grazing, once the ice is gone?

very little ice or snow here in central Texas just cold (for texans) had to break ice on the water trough and disconnect the auto waterer. Expecting a calf anyday , hope it warms a little bit.

Sleet here (midway between Richmond and Charlottesville) since about 7 AM...snow would be preferable! Supposed to rain all of tomorrow.

5 days at less than zero (f). Most have been daytime highs of -15, overnight lows at -30. Tough week for critters, but plenty of warning for this front.

Keep 'em safe!
