You need to contact your state agriculture department.

Not sure where you are unless the KS on your name means Kansas. If so I don't think you need any paperwork or license unless you are in a area zoned by a city.

Why? I'm not aware of any thing you have to do here other then apply for your ag except tax number when you pay your property taxes if you don't want to pay sales tax on your farm purchases.

Different states have different laws and regulations. For example, in Michigan you'd want to know about RFID requirements and exceptions. If you are crossing state lines, either way, there are rules. There are property tax exemptions. Often there is money available to help with fencing or manure containment.
You could get advice on becoming environmentally certified. Some folk are proud that they are good stewards of the land and want people to know it. A sign is provided saying the farm is environmentally certified.
Each state is different.

Yes in Kansas. Have a good buyer and I'm sure he'd let me know if there was anything I need to know. I'm just efficient and get ducks in order.

Was a cattle farm technically 10 years ago when my family raised cattle here. I've lived here for a few years now and would love to follow my grandpa's steps. He raised cattle here for over 50.
