Fresh dairy bull calves

I found a dairy that sells their bull calves reasonable for today's market and picked up 4 yesterday. He lets them stay on momma for a couple days then starts them on bottles and whole milk. They are loose in a pretty big trap, no stalls and such, just a barn to get under. And they are big calves for 3-6 days old.

It is an 8 hour round trip, but it looks like I have 3 sold for over twice what I paid for all 4, meaning I will pay for the trip, have a calf clear to raise for the freezer and enough to pay for milk replacer for him for a while.

And having made the contact, I hope to be able to make a few more trips with similar results.

And a side note, I was surprised to see a dairy this big running cows on pasture. Replacement heifers on pasture as well. Not standing on a slab or in lots being fed.

Congratulations on the good deal.
Here's hoping your luck continues.

And that is there and I am here. I have them marked up $100 a head and have had about a dozen inquiries in one day. Just waiting for the first person to be able to make it when I am here.

Calves of any breed are expensive here and very hard to find. One guy asked about my source. I am not syai9ng a word .

That is great! There is a guy North from me, he said that they easily will got for $100+ up there, but with the shipping it is not worth it unless you are making the trip with a empty trailer! I get them free here, feed them up till weaned and sell them for $300 each.
