Preg check results

We haven't been doing much A.I. breeding lately on account of the heat -- we've been letting them go unless they're "way out" and it's a last chance scenario.

Got the preg check tests results back yesterday, and out of the 4 cows I bred in May, one tested "open," one was a "recheck" and 4 were bred! Woohoo!

We're testing through DHI using milk samples now; new technology that just became available this year and I'm so happy to have it!

Congrats on the breds. But I think your math is fuzzy.

Good work. I want to get 5 bred before the next heat wave. I will be lobbing grenades for practice. Someone just called and said he is adding to the tank.

Whoops, that should have been "out of the 6 cows I bred..."

I'm waiting on tenterhooks to see what next month's results are. There is a particular cow, one of my favorites, who is 400 days out ... she had aborted twins in her 5th month of pregnancy, and we've been trying to rebreed her ever since ... but she's used up all her chances.

she may have an infection. Seen in a friends cow she aborted and would not even cycle (did not cycle for 6 months.) took some heavy duty antibiotics and a couple of months and she bred back.

Hmm, usually they're stinky if they're infected ... boss will give 'em a shot of Lute to clean 'em out.
